Ian`s Profile
Ian joined the Mosta Scout Group in 1992 as a cub scout and after a few years became the sixer of the black patrol. At the age of 10 he then joined the Troop section where he became the Assistant Patrol Leader of the Wolf Patrol during which he managed to obtain the Scout Standard, Advanced Scout Standard and the St. John`s Three Cross Award. Following the Troop section he then moved to the Venture Unit where he earned his Venture Badge, Venture Award and Life Saving Course with RLSS. Following an extraordinary experience in the Venture Unit he joined the Rover Crew which he s till forms part of today. A day to remember in the Rover Crew was when the Mosta Rover Crew won the Best Crew of the Year Award at the National Rover Camp in 2006. In the being of 2006 he started helping in the Troop section and later on during the year he started his Leadership Courses. He managed to obtain the Pathfinder Course in June 2007, the Basic Course in May 2008 and the Woodbage in February 2009. During the 2009 AGM Ian was officially nominated as the Skipper for the Mosta Troop. In 2007 he was awarded the Chief Scout Commendation for Gallantry.
In the meantime Ian took various courses including a First Aid Course with St. John Ambulance, a Food Safety and Hygiene Course and 3 Canoeing Courses.
Ian has attended a European jamboree, Eurojam, where he was an IST and in 2007 he went to Roverway which was held in Italy where he took part as a participant. In 2008 he took part in the Pl Adventure held at Yo ulbury Scout Centre in the UK as a leader. In 2009 he went once again to Roverway which was held in Iceland where he has the opportunity to endeavour in the challanges of Ice Climbing and Wild Water River Rafting. These events were really amazing and surely experiences which he will surely never forget.
In 2010 Ian was appointed as an IHQ officer with the International department for a term of 5 years. Born in 1987 in Zebbug. Educated in De La Salle College and Junior College. Graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Malta in 2009 with a B.Eng. (Hons) and presently working as a QA R&D engineer for a pharmaceutical company in Malta.
