Group: Annual General Meeting

This years annual general meeting was held on Friday 13th Februaury in the local council community Hall. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the woodbadge certificate to three of our leaders; Ian Fenech, Horace Bonavia and Antonella Sant by the Commissioner for Training and Programme Mrs Leslie Bonnici.

Another important presentation was the thanks badge to Salvu Frendo (ex GSL) and to Ms Beverly Curmi (council member) for the continuous support they gave / give towards our group.

The event kicked off with an opening speach by the GSL Mr Edward Vella, followed by another one by the Committee Chairman Mr John Fenech. The accounts were then published for the approval of all those present.

Each section then had the opprotunity to show animated powerpoint presenations filled up with pictures taken during last years activities. After each presentation awards were distributed to best acheivers of last year.

The major awards were as follows:

Bandsman of the year - Sean Bartolo

Best Cub - Janica Grixti

Best Scout - Noella Cuesta

Best Venture - Angela Bonavia

Best Rover - Kris Cardona

Rebecca Cardona was given the Chief Scout Award by the Chief Scout Mr Vince Cassar.

The agm ended by a very good number of investitures from both the pack and the troop section. Following the investitures there was a going up ceremony from pack to troop and from troop to Unit.
